SYRACUSE, NY. – The IronPigs look to even their series with the Mets Friday night in an offensive battle.
The IronPigs began the scoring in the top of the third on a Rafael Lantigua ground out, but Rodolfo Castro is able to come in and score. 1-0 Pigs. Later in the inning, Weston Wilson reaches on a fielder’s choice. Matt Kroon scores to make it 2-0.
A Francisco Alvarez home run in the bottom of the fourth cuts the IronPigs lead in half, 2-1.
After the Mets tie things in the fifth, The IronPigs respond in the seventh A Rodolfo Castro solo shot gives the Pigs the lead back, 3-2. Matt Kroon would add a solo shot of his own in the inning, 4-2 IronPigs.
Two hit batsmen in the bottom of the seventh would allow 2 runs to walk in for the Mets tying things back up, 4-4.
In the top of the eighth Óscar Mercado launches a 2-run home run to continue the seesaw and put the IronPigs up 6-4.
The Mets weren’t done yet as a José Azocar double bring in 2 runs, 6-6.
The Mets get the walk off victory in the tenth inning, 8-7.
