SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Sioux Falls-native Marcus Phillips will be glued close to his phone on Sunday, as the Tennessee Volunteer Pitcher awaits to hear his name called in some of the early rounds of the 2025 MLB Draft.
Phillips played high school ball at Sioux Falls Roosevelt, and helped the Vols win the College World Series last year in Omaha against Texas A&M.
He started 17 games this year at Tennessee. Some baseball analysts have Phillips going in the early second round.
The 2025 MLB Draft is Sunday, starting at 5:00 p.m.
