The Toronto Blue Jays are putting together a special season.

In fact, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reports they believe it’s their best chance to get back to the World Series since their last appearance in the Fall Classic in 1993.

To help get there, the Blue Jays want to add pitching.

Nightengale says they’re targeting Zac Gallen, the right-handed pitcher from the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Gallen was previously a star, but he’s had a rough 2025. Toronto would be betting that a fresh start can bring back some of his top form from earlier in his career.

Pitching is always crucial in making a deep playoff run, especially with the potential for injuries that exists over the next few months before the postseason even arrives.

Getting a guy like Gallen could help hold off the Yankees in the AL East and send the Blue Jays toward a potentially special October.
