ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Week is a celebration of all things baseball, and a former Atlanta Braves player now turned artist has a special collaboration in honor of the upcoming midsummer classic.
Micah Johnson visits Atlanta News First to talk about his partnership with New Era and MLB to create new “Micah Dreams X MLB Blank Canvas” limited-edition All-Star caps.
Since becoming an artist, Johnson created the character “Aku” – a young astronaut inspiring children to dream big. He’s been featured on the cover of Time Magazine and his work has been exhibited globally.
The former Braves player, who also played for the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers, spoke on the inspiration for the new hats, as well as what got him into art.
He also brought up that he’ll be releasing his first book next year that will include art pieces he hopes will inspire children – even adults – to chase their dreams.
The caps are available on New Era’s website and MLBShop.com.
