The Milwaukee Brewers made a few minor transactions on Sunday evening, optioning Easton McGee to Triple-A Nashville, returning Blake Perkins from his rehab assignment and optioning him to Nashville, and designating Drew Avans for assignment.

McGee, 27, has made five scattered appearances for the Brewers, including a ninth-inning outing on Sunday afternoon. Overall, he’s spanned seven innings and allowed two runs (2.57 ERA) with seven strikeouts. This is already the third time the team has optioned him this season.

Perkins, who has been out all season after suffering a leg injury in spring training, was used as Milwaukee’s fourth outfielder the last couple of seasons, but with the emergence of Isaac Collins this season, he’ll find himself at Triple-A Nashville, at least for now.

In two MLB seasons, Perkins has played in 188 games with a .234/.318/.337 line, hitting 10 homers, 63 RBIs, 82 runs, and 28 steals while providing solid defense. In 15 games between the ACL Brewers and Nashville during his rehab assignment, he’s hit .273/.429/.364 with a homer, four RBIs, 10 runs, and three steals, though he struggled with a .192/.382/.346 line across eight games (26 at-bats) with Nashville.

With Perkins taking up the 40-man roster spot after coming off the 60-day IL, Avans is the odd man out, resulting in his DFA. He made his MLB debut with the Athletics earlier this season before the Brewers claimed him off waivers in early June. He played just one game with the major league club, going 0-for-2 with an RBI. In 23 games with Nashville, he hit .261/.358/.391 with two homers, 12 RBIs, 16 runs, and 12 steals.

An updated 40-man roster can be found here. The active roster sits at 25 players, with Aaron Ashby, who is currently on the paternity list, likely to fill the 26th spot come Friday.
