The San Francisco Giants selected Georgia prep right-handed pitcher Reid Worley in the ninth round of the 2025 MLB Draft (266th overall pick). Worley is the Giants first high school selection of the year and is committed to Kennesaw State. A prep prospect, Worley will likely command a signing bonus above the $204,400 recommended slot value.

While Worley is not considered one of the best prep pitching prospects in his class, he has generated some of the most consistent spin in the class. According to Prep Baseball Report, Worley’s slider generated an elite 3200-3300 RPMs, making it among the best breaking balls in the class.

Worley’s fastball has topped out at 93 mph, but sits in the low-90s. A lanky 6’2 frame however leaves some room for optimism that he will gain velocity as he fills out in his 20s. He has also thrown a changeup, but it remains the least developed of his arsenal.
