The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a trade, sending right-handed pitcher Noah Davis to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for cash considerations.
Davis was designated for assignment by the Dodgers last week.

Davis had allowed 13 earned runs in five appearances this season, with his most recent outing being one in which he allowed 10 earned runs in 1.1 innings against the Houston Astros. The right-hander’s ERA was at 5.79 entering that unfortunate Independence Day game, but the brutal performance just about decided his fate.
Things were better for Davis during his time with Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 3.94 ERA across 21 outings in the minors. He hurled 38 strikeouts to just 15 walks during this time.

The Newport Beach, CA native had three seasons of experience with the Colorado Rockies prior to his short stint with his hometown team. His ERA was at 7.71 during 51.1 innings of work in Colorado with his home games at the notoriously hitter-friendly Coors Field.
Davis will report to Triple-A St. Paul upon his departure from LA and look to have an ERA closer to his time in the minors, versus his unfortunate outings as a Dodger.
Although his sample size with the Dodgers was small, there were still a few bright spots, as his bloated ERA doesn’t tell the full story. His sweeper pitch — the most-used in his arsenal — was by far his most effective, generating a swing-and-miss rate of 50 percent.
This offering was also his slowest of the arsenal with an average velocity of 80 mph, but had an opposing batting average of .250 against it, the lowest of his repertoire.
