FARGO — North Dakota State baseball recruit Tyson Moran was selected in the 13th round (398th overall) of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Kansas City Royals on Monday night.
Moran, from Wingham, Ontario, plays infield for the Great Lake Canadians elite amateur program out of London, Ontario.
He’s the 15th Bison player selected in the draft since 1968. NDSU has had a player drafted in each of the past five drafts.
Moran is ranked 500th overall among prospects and 481st for shortstops in the 2025 class, according to Perfect Game, a baseball recruiting website.
Moran announced his commitment to NDSU via social media on July of 2024. He signed with the Bison in November of 2024.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
