The Padres have five players in Atlanta right now for the All-Star Game. If I told you this and you hadn’t watched a single game this year, you’d probably guess San Diego easily is in a postseason spot. Well, they’re in one but not easily. At the break they’re 52-44, holding on to the third and final NL Wild Card spot with San Francisco a half game back.
If you want to be positive though, the Padres are eight games over .500 through 96 games compared to being just two games over last season.
