West Lyon defeats Central Lyon in baseball playoffs

LARCHWOOD, IOWA (KELO) — The West Lyon baseball team topped rival Central Lyon 8-1 Saturday night in the Iowa 2A Substate semifinals.

The Wildcats struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first and tacked on three more in the third to take a 5-0 lead. The Lions got on the board with a run in the top of the fifth before West Lyon added three more insurance runs in the sixth.

West Lyon is set to take on Okoboji in a state qualifier game Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
