EUGENE, Ore– The 2025 MLB draft has officially come to a close with several Oregon Ducks (5) & Oregon State Beavers (6) drafted and left with a decision to make. To head to the pros or return back to Eugene or Corvallis for those that can.
For the Beavers the list includes several members of the starting lineup. With the 110th pick in the fourth round of the draft Oregon State outfielder Gavin Turley was selected by the Athletics.
Two rounds later, Beaver Ace Nelson Keljo was picked up by the Cleveland Guardians with the 192nd pick. After Keljo three more Beavers were selected including Kellan Oakes in the 9th round (Astros), Wilson Weber in the 11th round (Marlins) & Canon Reeder in the 18th round (Pirates).
Down in Eugene while no Ducks were selected in the opening rounds on Sunday, five from Oregon’s roster last year would hear their name called.
Mason Neville would be the first Ducks to get his name called in the fourth round with the 114th pick by the Cincinnati Reds. A few picks later, Oregon’s 2nd player would hear their name called in the form of starting pitcher Jason Reitz with the 119 pick to the Minnesota Twins.
After several more rounds three more Ducks would be drafted including Grayson Grinsell by the Detroit Tigers with the 189th pick, Jacob Walsh by the Washington Nationals with the 441st pick & Anson Aroz by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 585th pick.
For Oregon baseball this marks the third consecutive draft with at least five players selected, the sixth consecutive draft with at least four players selected and the 14th consecutive draft with at least three players drafted.
