VICTORIA, Texas-  Earlier today, former Victoria East and UHV pitcher Brady Parker made history by being drafted by the Colorado Rockies with the 347th overall pick in the 12th round of the 2025 MLB Draft.

The left-handed pitcher from Victoria became the second-ever UHV player to be drafted into the MLB and the 10th person from Victoria to achieve this milestone. Parker joins Andre Del Bosque (2014) as the only UHV players ever drafted, and he is the first player from Victoria to be selected since Zac Leigh in 2014.

During his career at UHV, Parker set a new program record with 252 career strikeouts over three seasons and helped lead the team to two NAIA Opening Round appearances. He compiled a 23-11 record in 45 appearances, with a career ERA of 4.71, and earned All-RRAC First Team honors in both 2024 and 2025.

Following his selection, Parker said, “I’m really thankful to the Rockies for this opportunity. I couldn’t be happier. I’m ready to do whatever it takes to get to the next level.”

This dream has now become a reality for Parker, as he prepares to take his talents to the professional level.
