TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Former Tallahassee State College baseball coach Mike McLeod didn’t stay retired long, as just three years after retiring as head coach of the Eagles, McLeod was named head coach at Maclay today.
McLeod was the head coach at TSC for over three decades, a program he restarted after it lay dormant for 20 years. The Eagles won over 1,000 games with McLeod at the helm, winning six conference titles.
McLeod graduated from Godby High School, going on to play baseball at Florida State, a place he would eventual coach at. McLeod served as the Seminoles pitching coach from 1982-1990, helping Florida State to three College World Series appearances and seven straight Metro Conference championship teams.
McLeod has experience with the Marauders, as he’s been an assistant coach with the varsity team the past two years and served as head coach of the middle school team this past season.
