PURVIS, Miss. (WDAM) – The wait to hear his name called in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft turned out to be longer than expected for Purvis High School slugger Jacob Parker.
Parker was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 19th round with the 573rd overall pick Monday in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft.
Parker’s twin, JoJo, was tapped Sunday with the eighth overall pick by the Toronto Blue Jays.
The twins were the 2025 Class 4A Co-Mr. Baseball award winners.
Jacob Parker, hit .525 with 17 home runs in his senior season, participated in the MLB Draft Combine in June.
Both Parker verbally committed to play baseball at Mississippi State University.
