Utica’s offense caught fire late as the Association knocked off Albion 10-2 in a Home Talent Sunday League game on July 13 at Utica Field.
The win keeps Utica (8-4) one game back from Southeast South Division leader Stoughton (9-3) with two Sunday League games to play. Evansville (8-4) also is a game back of Stoughton.

The A’s trailed 2-0 before tying up the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with a pair of runs. Utica broke the game open with six runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Association added two runs in the eighth.
Carson Knapp finished 4-for-5 with two runs out of the leadoff spot. Ben Hildebrandt went 3-for-5 with two runs and a pair of RBIs. Tyler Soule and Ryan Ellingson both added two hits each. Ellingson, Owen Ernest and Ethan Yahn all had two RBIs.

Utica used two pitchers. Ellingson started the game and pitched four innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits. Ellingson struck out three and issued no walks. Brock Wanninger picked up the win on the mound, allowing no runs on three hits in five innings. He added four strikeouts and only walked one.
