Visiting the ballpark is a beloved American pastime. While the average ballpark experience is enjoyed with the likes of crackerjacks, hot dogs, nachos, and ice cold beer — it doesn’t have to be everyone’s. Class up your next visit to the ballpark at Balcones Speakeasy, an all-inclusive bar inside the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Field in Arlington. While the speakeasy is inclusive, there are a couple necessary criteria to enter the bar. Find out more about Balcones and how to access the speakeasy below.

Located behind home plate in the lower concourse, Balcones Speakeasy is a high-end, prohibition-style speakeasy opened in spring 2020. The venue itself is imbued with elegance, with brick walls, plush lounge seating, moody lighting fixtures, and fireplace. The venue is also outfitted with plenty of TVs broadcasting the game.

The venue features a rotating list of signature cocktails under bartender Christina Henley, otherwise known as “Betty Cocktail”. Cocktails are often themed or otherwise tailored to the Rangers’ opposing team. Past cocktails include Fault Line Sour, Minnesota Poodle, and Orange Crush – the latter a Bourbon-based drink with cream and orange soda topped with ‘Tiki trash’ – a nod to the Houston Astros. The venue also serves spirits and spirits flights, craft and domestic beer as well as a rotating selection of wine.

Furthermore, the speakeasy features a AYCE buffet with gourmet small plates. This upscale buffet is available until the fifth inning. The buffet’s grab-and-go option is available until the seventh inning. If the back and forth is making you miss the action, the speakeasy also offers in-seat service with ballpark classic options like hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn. This is available until the seventh inning.
