The 2025 MLB Draft is officially over, and the Colorado Rockies have called the names of 21 young men who will hopefully make an impact on their organization. With their first pick—fourth overall—the Rockies selected a potential face of the franchise in SS/3B Ethan Holliday from Stillwater High School in Oklahoma.
When the Washington Nationals selected Eli Willits from Fort Braxton-Cobb, Oklahoma first overall, it became almost certain that Ethan Holliday would fall to the Rockies. After both the Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners selected pitchers, it was clear that the youngest Holliday was coming home to Colorado where his father Matt was an All-Star.
The Rockies also made three additional day one picks.
Day two of the 2025 draft was a long one, with rounds 4 through 20 compressed into one day. Their final draft pick of 2025 was left-handed pitcher Ethan Cole from the small school of Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Rockies used much of day two to load up on pitchers, using every round from the tenth onward to do so.
Overall, the Rockies drafted 14 pitchers (11 right-handed and three left-handed), two catchers, two outfielders, a third baseman, a first baseman, and a shortstop. They selected just one high school player and one JuCo player, while also selecting two pitchers from Canada — Tyrelle Chadwick and Antoine Jean.
The Rockies drafted one player from Colorado in right-handed pitcher Easton Marks from Florida International University. Marks attended Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado.
