A six-run first inning led the DSL Padres Brown to a win over their Padres Gold counterparts. Jose Bericoto’s two-run home run set the tone early for the Padres Brown, jumping on Padres Gold starter Carlos Alvarez. Alvarez would be chased after one out recorded. Dayquer Alfonzo made the Padres Gold pay for four walks from Alvarez, turning on a pitch from Jose Montijo for a grand slam. Isaac Ponce got the Padres Gold within slam range with a two-run home run of his own. Dayquer Alfonzo hit a sacrifice fly in the third to score the Padres Brown’s seventh run of the game.

A pair of bases-loaded walks from Eluscat brought the Padres Gold to within three runs, but Victor Pilar ended the frame without any further damage. PIlar allowed a run in the fifth on a single from Moises Valdez, but was picked up by Abraham Bastidas’ sac fly in the next frame. Leading 8-5 entering the seventh, Wilkins Matos had three outs left to record, but a leadoff homer from Fabian Alcantara got the Padres Gold to within one. Nonetheless, Matos was able to record the final three outs, sealing a Padres Brown win.
