The Twins wrapped up the 2025 MLB Draft on Monday afternoon after selecting 21 players over two days. They landed 12 right-handed pitchers, one left-handed pitcher, six infielders and one outfielder. The Twins selected two players out of high school and 19 out of college.
Since, the Twins have agreed to terms with five undrafted free agents, including two catchers. So, as of Wednesday afternoon, 26 new prospects are part of the organization. Johnson feels good about getting all 21 draft picks to sign. Some will begin reporting to Fort Myers next week.
Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson spoke on Wednesday, via Zoom, with Sean Johnson. He’s the Twins’ VP of amateur scouting, having final say in the draft room. Johnson has been with the Twins since 2002 and also has the title of assistant general manager.

The Twins selected shortstop Marek Houston out of Wake Forest with their top pick, No. 16 overall.
Houston, ranked No. 15 by MLB Pipeline, is considered one of the top defensive shortstops in this year’s draft class.
He also showed significant improvement at the plate during his junior season. After hitting a combined 12 home runs over his first two seasons at Wake Forest, the right-handed hitter focused more on power during his junior year. The result: 15 home runs — tied for the team lead — and a 1.055 OPS, more than 100 points higher than the previous season.
With the 36th overall pick, the Twins took right-handed pitcher Riley Quick. He went 8-3 with a 3.92 ERA at the University of Alabama last season. At 6-foot-6, Quick’s fastball is consistently clocked at 95-96 miles per hour.
