ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria Aces have once again proven their role as a vital stepping stone to professional baseball. A record-breaking seven former Aces players were selected in the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, held July 13–14, shattering the franchise’s previous record of five selections set in 2019.
This milestone marks a new high-water mark for the Aces program, which has now produced 50 MLB draftees over 17 seasons — averaging nearly three players per year since its inception. Previous strong showings in 2017 and 2015 each saw four Aces alumni drafted.

A Full-Circle Moment for a Hometown Star
One of the most celebrated picks of the 2025 class was Ryan Osinski, a right-handed pitcher and Alexandria native. Selected by the New York Yankees in the 17th round (Pick 524), Osinski brings the story home in more ways than one.
A product of St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School and the University of Virginia, Osinski made his mark during the Aces’ 2022 championship season, recording a perfect 4-0 record, 3.14 ERA, and 36 strikeouts, including a clutch save in Game One of the Cal Ripken League Championship Series.
“His selection by the Yankees marks a full-circle moment for a hometown talent,” said Aces Head Coach Chris Berset. “It’s always special to see a local player make it to the next level.”

“This year’s MLB Draft class is a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, and the entire Aces organization,” said Frank Fannon, President of the Alexandria Aces.
“We are incredibly proud to see so many of our former players take the next step in their baseball careers.”
