Three Greater Cincinnati high schools named new head coaches to lead their baseball programs this week.

Mariemont High School’s athletic department has chosen Adam DeLaet as the next head coach of the Warriors baseball program.

A 2013 Lakota East graduate, DeLaet played collegiately at Walsh College, and has coached summer baseball for Diamond Elite and CBC.

DeLaet returns to Mariemont, where he previously served as an assistant coach on the Warrior staff in 2021 before serving on the Indian Hill varsity staff for the last three seasons.

According to athletic director Tom Nerl, DeLaet and his wife Aubrey are expecting their first child any day now.

Newport Central Catholic has announced the hiring of Nick Enginger as its new head coach.

Enginger has been teaching Social Studies at NewCath since 1997. He played baseball at Elder High School and went on to play collegiately at Northern Kentucky University.

Bellevue has tabbed Matt Atkins to replace longtime head coach Rob Sanders, who retired after the 2025 season.

Atkins has been coaching for five years, the last two as an assistant to Sanders at Bellevue.

He is a 2005 graduate of Newport High School where he played four years of varsity sports in baseball, football and basketball.

He went on to Kentucky Wesleyan where he played baseball for three years and football for two. He played professional baseball for two years in independent leagues in Texas and Ontario.

 “Matt is going to do great things at Bellevue, and we are excited he is leading our baseball program,” the school posted in a press release.
