The Washington Nationals are enhancing the in-venue experience by teaming with ProWire to offer real-time radio audio through fans’ personal devices. Starting today (July 18) fans at Nationals Park can stream delay-free English or Spanish broadcasts of games through the MLB Ballpark app using stadium Wi-Fi or cellular networks.
The new offering allows attendees to listen to live play-by-play from Nationals radio voices Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler via Audacy sports “106.7 The Fan” WJFK-FM, or Spanish broadcasters Luciano Rodríguez and Gustavo Salazar, originating on Spanish CHR “DC 87.7” WDCN-LP, “La Pantera” WFAX (1220), and W264DB (100.7), directly from their smartphones. The technology leverages ProWire’s ultra-low latency system, which eliminates the usual lag found in traditional mobile streams.
“The Nationals have a history of providing in-venue radios at Nationals Park, and now fans will be able to access that audio without delay conveniently within MLB’s Ballpark app,” James Sumner, ProWire co-founder and COO, said in a release.
The new feature will replace the traditional in-park radio lanyards for the 2026 season. For the remainder of the 2025 season, in-park radio lanyards will remain operational; however, fans are encouraged to try the new listen live feature in the MLB Ballpark app using a personal listening device and their smartphone.
