Recap: Ben Cowles and Christian Franklin each had three hits and hit home runs as the Cubs beat the Clippers. The accounted for six of the Cubs’ seven hits. For Columbus, C.J. Kayfus was 3 for 4 with a home run, lifting his batting average to .297. Clippers starter Doug Nikhazy (5-6) allowed four run son five hits in 4⅔ innings. He struck out two and walked three.
