The Rangers are set to get another couple pitchers back soon, but may have lost another on Sunday.
Relief pitcher Chris Martin made an early exit during his appearance against the Tigers, appearing to tweak something in his right leg on a play in which the Tigers scored the go-ahead run off Martin in the eighth inning.
He exited with Rangers’ training staff shortly after and was replaced by reliever Caleb Boushley.

After the game ended — a 2-1 loss for Texas — Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Martin suffered a left calf strain and the team will know more about the injury Monday.
This isn’t the first of health issues that Martin has experienced in 2025, as he went through a bout earlier in the season in which he struggled to throw more than one pitch per outing.
Which is unfortunate for Texas, because Martin has been one of the Rangers’ best bullpen weapons when healthy. In 33⅓ innings across 38 appearances for Martin in 2025, the 39-year-old Arlington native had posted an ERA of just 2.14 entering Sunday’s game.
His absence would be another ding for Rangers pitching at a crucial point in the season with the trade deadline now less than two weeks away.
