{KXLG -Watertown, SD} The schedule for the 2025 South Dakota American Legion Baseball State Championship Tournaments across Class “A” Senior, Class “A” Junior, Class “B” Senior, and Class “B” Junior divisions has been announced today, Monday, July 21, 2025. Both Watertown and Milbank will serve as host cities for these premier youth baseball events.
The 2025 Class “A” Senior American Legion Baseball State Championship in Watertown, SD
Watertown Stadium in Watertown, S.D., is slated to host the Class “A” Senior State Championship from Tuesday, July 29, to Saturday, August 2, 2025. Lyle Tolsma of Rapid City, Chairman of the South Dakota American Legion State Athletic Commission, will announce the first-round pairings once all participating teams have qualified. Tournament brackets will be promptly updated and released at that time. Seeding for the tournament will be based on the results of two-out-of-three playoff series.
All games are scheduled for seven innings, with a 10-run mercy rule after 4 ½ innings. The champion of this tournament will earn the opportunity to advance to the National Central Plains Regional American Legion Baseball Tournament, which will be held at Starion Bank Field in Fargo, N.D., from August 6-10, 2025. Should a South Dakota team emerge victorious from the Central Plains Regional, they will then be eligible to represent Region 6 in the National American Legion Baseball World Series in Shelby, N.C., from August 14-19, 2025.

2025 Class “A” Junior American Legion Baseball State Championship
The 2025 Class “A” Junior American Legion Baseball State Championship Tournament will take place at Black Hills Surgical Hospital Ballpark in Rapid City, S.D., from Thursday, July 31, to Sunday, August 3, 2025. Lyle Tolsma will release the first-round pairings following the completion of play-in games scheduled for July 23-24. The tournament will feature pool play from Thursday through Saturday, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to a single-elimination format on Sunday. All tournament games are seven innings, unless a 10-run rule is met.
