From the Brookings Cubs
The Brookings Cubs play host to the Harrisburg Woodies on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Bob Sheldon Field. With the support of Walk ‘n Rohl Pet Hotel and Dakota Insurance, proceeds from this event will benefit the Brookings Regional Humane Society.
In addition, this event will also serve as the Cubs’ regular season finale and Fan Appreciation Night.
Several events are scheduled during the game:
* Split Pot tickets will be sold during the game. The Cubs will retain 50% of the pot, while the remaining 50% will be split between evenly between two lucky fans whose tickets are drawn.
* Freewill donations for the Humane Society will be accepted, while donations of supplies can also be brought to the game with those donating receiving half-price admission into the game. Suggested donation items include dog and cat food, litter and cleaning supplies, toys, as well as formula for both puppies and kittens.
* Progressive foul balls all night, where the first the first three foul balls of each inning are worth the dollar amount of the inning. For example, the first three foul balls in the 7th inning are worth $7.00 each.
* Beer will be $2.00 all game long, as well as postgame. A “beer batter” will also be in effect where if that batter strikes out, all beer will be 2 for $3.00 for the next 10 minutes.
