COLFAX — Sandpoint High rising sophomore John Holman smacked a two-run triple to deep center field during a three-run third inning as the Sasquatch were downed by Dudes Underclass of Redmond to open “Hatteburg” pool play at the Palouse Summer Series on Thursday at Colfax High.

Holman also brought home his twin brother, Daniel Holman, in the seventh inning after reaching on an error. Timberlake High rising junior Nathan Beardsall, Priest River High rising junior Broden Collins and Sandpoint High rising junior Andrew Aexel all singled in the outing.

Southpaw Bryce Lee, a rising junior who competed for Riverside High in Chattaroy this past spring, struck out three batters and allowed just one earned run across 5.1 innings in his start on the mound.

PULLMAN —  Sandpoint High rising sophomore Daniel Holman recorded an RBI double in the fifth frame as the Sasquatch were defeated by the Elevate Northwest Bandits of Woodinville in their second game of Palouse Summer Series “Hatteburg” pool play held Thursday at Washington State University’s Bailey-Brayton Field.

Timberlake High rising junior Nathan Beardsall had a pair of RBI groundouts in the contest. Sandpoint High rising sophomore Chase Miller and rising junior Andrew Aexel both singled, as did Bryce Lee.

Sandpoint High rising junior Brennan Shaw got the nod on the rubber and struck out two batters over four frames. Fellow rising junior Jacob Alexander put together three quality innings in relief, allowing just two hits, four walks and one earned run.

MOSCOW — Timberlake High rising junior Nathan Beardsall went 2-for-2 with an RBI single during the final frame as the Sasquatch fell to the Central Washington Sixers of Moses Lake in their third game of the Palouse Summer Series, which was a matchup between Hatteburg and Gleason pool play teams Friday at the Moscow School District Community Playfields.

Beardsall was also electric on the mound, striking out two batters and scattering just two hits as he fired in a seven-inning complete game.

Post Falls rising eighth grader Cash Crateau and Sandpoint High rising sophomore Daniel Holman tallied singles on the day.

Evan Huss, a rising sophomore at Lake City High, struck out two batters over three innings in his start on the mound. Collins allowed no earned runs and struck out one batter across 1.2 innings in relief. 

The Sasquatch 16U returns to action today for a doubleheader against the River City Premier starting at 3 p.m. at Pine Street Field.
