PHOENIX, Ariz. (KOLN) – Brice Matthews started his MLB career 0-for-7 with five strikeouts. Now, he’s settling in at the big league level.
The Houston Astros’ top prospect went 2-for-4 while blasting his first two career home runs on Monday. Matthews finished the game with five RBI.
Matthews was the 28th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. The versatile infielder was an All-Big Ten selection at Nebraska, where he hit .359 with 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases during his final season with the Huskers.
