The Texas Rangers scored six runs while the Detroit Tigers scored one run.

Leave it to the Rangers to go on a six-series losing skid only to break it against the hottest team in baseball and one with their league’s best record.

It didn’t appear likely that Texas would take this series after Tarik Skubal carved them up in the opener, but after taking their beating, the Rangers bounced back and smacked eight home runs in their two wins, including three in today’s contest.

Despite the fact that the Rangers going on a power hitting spree was a surprise regardless, that Texas did so at Comerica Park — not really a place known for being a hitters’ haven — makes it all the more impressive.

In collecting today’s win and the series, the Rangers got home runs from Marcus Semien, Josh Jung, and Jonah Heim, none of whom were among the players who hit the five home runs yesterday. In total, the Rangers had 12 hits today with each member of the starting lineup getting in on the action except for Joc Pederson.

Texas now heads home following a 3-3 road trip against a couple of tough opponents and, importantly, a series win to feel good about.

Player of the Game: If you ignore the existence of the ascending Hunter Brown, you could make a strong case for Nathan Eovaldi being the American League’s best starting pitcher a quarter of the way through the 2025 season.

Today Eovaldi went seven shutout innings on just two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts against the team that entered this series with the most runs in the AL. The legend of Nasty Nate grows.

Up Next: The Rangers will be back in Arlington where they will next welcome the NL West’s Rockies for a series. RHP Tyler Mahle is expected to pitch in the opener for Texas opposite RHP Chase Dollander for Colorado.

The Monday evening first pitch from The Shed is set for 7:05 pm CT and will be shown via the Rangers Sports Network.
