The Texas Rangers have announced the signing of a number of 2025 draft picks, including second rounder A.J. Russell and third rounder Josh Owens.

Russell, a righthanded pitcher out of the University of Tennessee who was considered a first round talent but whose season was cut short due to internal brace surgery, received a $2.6 million signing bonus, per Jim Callis. That is significant above the $1,846,700 slot value for the #52 pick.

Owens, a prep shortstop out of Tennessee, got a $1.1 million signing bonus, per Callis. His slot figure was $950,100.

The Rangers have also signed:

6th rounder Jack Wheeler

7th rounder Paxton Kling

8th rounder Evan Siary

9th rounder Owen Proksch

10th rounder JD McReynolds

11th rounder Jacob Johnson

12th rounder Jake Barbee

15th rounder Luke Hanson

17th rounder Noah Franklin

The signing of four other draft picks, including first rounder Gavin Fien, was announced yesterday.

It appears that the Rangers draft picks that are still unsigned are:

13th rounder Aiden Robertson

14th rounder Landon Manzi

19th rounder Cory Geinzer

20th rounder Jay McQueen

Robertson and Geinzer are Juco guys, while Manzi and McQueen are high schoolers.
