Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Jack Little is in the clubhouse on Wednesday morning ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins, hinting at a potential roster move.

Right-handed pitcher Ben Casparius left Tuesday night’s game, so it’s possible Little is with the team on taxi squad in case Casparius is forced to go on the injured list.

However, MLB.com’s Sonja Chen reported Casparius’ MRI came back negative and he expects to avoid the IL. He said he’ll likely need a few days.

Little has made two appearances in the show, totaling just three innings of work for the Dodgers. In that span, he has allowed a pair of earned runs with as many strikeouts.

Across 33 appearances in Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, Little has a 4.15 ERA over 39 innings pitched. In that span, Little has 37 punchouts to 18 walks, along with 13 saves in MiLB play.

In such a short sample of MLB play, Little has shown tons of potential.

He has tossed a four-seam fastball, a splitter, and a slider over just 44 MLB pitches, but his slider has yet to be touched against major leaguers. The 12 sliders he has thrown have all been swung on and missed.

Little must rely on his offspeed offerings since his fastball has an average velocity of just 94 mph. Although this number hovers around league average, batters have a .333 average across the 25 times when he has thrown that pitch.

If the 27-year-old right-hander gets another chance in the show, perhaps his stay will be longer than his previous two appearances, neither of which lasted longer than a day.
