Orange Lutheran’s strong baseball program has been strengthened by two transfer additions.

Joining the Lancers are pitcher Cooper Sides from Northern California and shortstop CJ Weinstein from Huntington Beach, Orange Lutheran coach RJ Farrell confirmed.

Sides, a 6-foot-5 right-hander who committed to LSU, as a junior this past season at Red Bluff High, was 6-1 with a 0.80 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 44 innings. Sides, named to the All-CIF Northern Section first team, also had 31 hits in his 73 at-bats (.425) with 17 RBIs.

Weinstein was the starting shortstop for the Oilers as they won the Sunset League championship and finished No. 2 in the final Orange County Top 25. A solid fielder, Weinstein’s 18 RBIs was fifth on the team and he was second on the team in doubles with six.
