The Pittsburgh Pirates signed eight more of their 2025 draft picks, pushing the total to 12 out of 21 players selected.
SS Gustavo Melendez (4th round)
Melendez was ranked as the top prospect out of Puerto Rico by both MLB Pipeline (140th overall) and Baseball America (123rd overall). He was committed to play collegiately at Wake Forest.
C Adonys Guzman (5th round)
Guzman had a breakout junior season and hit .328 with a .907 OPS, 12 doubles, nine home runs and 44 RBI in 62 games at the University of Arizona. He was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team.
OF Josh Tate (8th round)
Tate slashed .362/.437/.606 with 18 doubles, three triples, 12 home runs, 46 RBI and seven steals this year with Georgia Southern. He posted the best batting average and had the most hits in the Sun Belt Conference.
2B Dylan Palmer (11th round)
A First Team All-CAA selection from Hofstra, Palmer finished second in the conference with a .400 batting average and 88 hits. He’s Hofstra’s all-time leader in triples with 12, ranks second in steals with 82, third in hits with 247 and fourth in batting average (.386).
RHP Cameron Keshock (12th round)
Keshock went 5-4 with a 5.73 ERA across 15 appearances/14 starts during his first year at Samford. The right-hander struck out 74 batters and walked 33 in 77 innings.
OF Eddie King Jr. (16th round)
A senior at Louisville, King slashed .367/.435/.750 with 19 doubles, a triple, 17 home runs and 63 RBI in 55 games and was named to the Second Team All-ACC. He was also named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team.
OF Canon Reeder (18th round)
Reeder just wrapped up his junior season at Oregon State and slashed .293/.402/.489 with 11 doubles, a triple, eight home runs and 37 RBI in 55 games.
RHP Brandon Cain (19th round)
Cain, who was drafted from the University of Oklahoma, went 2-1 with a 1.86 ERA, 10 strikeouts and 12 walks in the MLB Draft League. He’s the nephew of former MLB outfielder Lorenzo Cain.
On Tuesday, the Pirates signed first-round pick Seth Hernandez for $7,250,000.
