MLB Pipeline revealed its updated top 100 prospects list, and four Mets made the cut. Jett Williams is the highest-ranked of the group, checking in at number 40. Jonah Tong went up five spots to No. 54, Nolan McLean rose 10 spots to No. 66, and Carson Benge took a big jump from No. 97 to No. 70. Brandon Sproat remained outside the top 100 despite a recent hot stretch.
Pipeline also revealed each organization’s updated top 30 prospects, and there was plenty of movement in the Mets’ rankings. Jacob Reimer and A.J. Ewing both took big leaps on the position-player side. Reimer went from 21st-ranked in the system to No. 6, while Ewing jumped from No. 28 to No. 9. Both prospects earned promotions in recent months – Reimer from High-A Brooklyn to Double-A Binghamton, and Ewing joining Brooklyn after beginning the year in Low-A St. Lucie. Jack Wenninger, who’s enjoyed a breakout season in Binghamton, has risen from No. 29 to No. 14. Will Watson has taken a big step forward in his first full season as a pro, going from unranked before the season to No. 17, and relief prospect Anthony Nunez, who has a 44.4% strikeout rate this year, has gone from outside the top 30 to No. 18. Righty Wellington Aracena is ranked for the first time, checking in at No. 19.
Notably, former first-round pick Colin Houck is no longer ranked in the top 30. Houck recently earned a promotion from St. Lucie to Brooklyn, but has posted a weak .463 OPS with 29 strikeouts in 78 plate appearances since. 2022 first-rounder Kevin Parada is also on the outside looking in despite rebounding from a rough start to the year.
