Cincinnati Reds Chase Petty Houston Astros

Cincinnati Reds touted prospect Chase Petty gave up six walks, four runs and pitched to just 3 batters into the fourth in his second big-league start.

College football commentator and Cincinnati Reds fan Kirk Herbstreit took to social media on May 11 to vent his frustrations after the team’s 6-0 loss to the Houston Astros.

Herbstreit posted on his X account:

SO predictable

@Reds Another year and another year of inconsistent hitting. Same thing for last 12 years-season essentially over in early May. How can a team NOT HIT for TWELVE YEARS?!?!??? Feel bad for Tito. One of best managers in our lifetime-even HE can’t turn this franchise around. Just doomed.

The loss ended the Reds’ road trip with a 2-5 record, which saw their season record drop to 20-22. It was their seventh shutout loss of the season.
