{KXLG – Watertown, SD} Watertown and Sioux Falls Roosevelt split a high school baseball doubleheader Friday night. Watertown won the first game 5-0, while Sioux Falls Roosevelt took the second game 8-6.

In game one, Watertown’s Kaden Rylance delivered a dominant pitching performance, allowing only one hit and striking out 10 batters. Nate Briggs led the Arrows offensively with two hits and three RBIs. Watertown scored one run in the first inning, two in the third, one in the fourth, and one in the fifth. The final score was 5-0.

Game two saw Sioux Falls Roosevelt jump to an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Watertown tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the second and took a 3-2 lead in the third. Roosevelt regained the lead in the fourth, scoring two runs to make it 4-3. They extended their lead in the sixth with four more runs. Watertown attempted a comeback, scoring one run in the sixth and two in the seventh, but ultimately fell short. The final score was 8-6 in favor of Sioux Falls Roosevelt.

Watertown (8-10) will conclude their season with a home doubleheader against Sioux Falls Jefferson on Saturday, with games at noon and 2 p.m
