With the Washington Nationals in town to play a weekend series vs. the Twins, it was an ideal time for outfielder Alex Call to give back to his hometown community.

Call hosted a free youth baseball clinic in River Falls, WI on Friday morning. He graduated from River Falls high school in 2013.

Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson was at the clinic and spoke with Call.

The clinic took place at First National Bank of River Falls field, a perfect setup for the 50 or so 11-13 year old players who participated.

Call has played 69-games this year for Washington and has a .270 batting average, with two home runs and 21 runs batted in. He’s played mostly right field, with a couple appearances also in center field.

Call has been with the Nationals since August 2022 after making his major league debut earlier that year with Cleveland.

He was originally drafted in the 3rd round in 2016 by the Chicago White Sox before being traded to Cleveland. He played in college for Ball State.
