Make it two Barneys for Oregon State baseball in the 2026 recruiting class.
The Beavers landed the commitment of shortstop Kyson Barney on Friday. His commitment comes after identical twin brother, first baseman Kael, also committed to OSU.
Barney — a right-handed infielder who stands at 6-5, 188 pounds — hails from Nolensville, Tennessee. His brother is the same height but is left-handed and stars at the first base spot.
“We can never thank enough those who have believed in us and sacrificed to help us through the years, coaches, family, friends, and parents,” the Barney twins wrote on their shared Instagram account. “It is a dream come true that we will both be Beavers. Thank you to OSU for giving us this opportunity.”
OSU is up to 11 total players in its 2026 recruiting class, including the Barneys.
That also includes outfielder Blake Bowen (Riverside, California), right-handed pitcher Grady Saunders (Springfield), catcher Teagan Scott (Salem), right-handed pitcher Julian Sabourin (Ontario, Canada), right-handed pitcher Everett Burdett (Albuquerque, New Mexico), outfielder Anthony Karis (Coeur d’Alene, Idaho), right-handed pitcher Keegan Matson (Redmond, Washington), catcher Deegan Rose (Clovis, California), and third baseman Josh Nati (New South Wales, Australia).
