MILWAUKEE — The Miami Marlins scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-all tie and went on to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 on Friday, spoiling the 25th anniversary celebration of American Family Field.
Otto Lopez delivered the big blow with a two-run double off Milwaukee reliever Nick Mears, as an additional run scored on a fielding error by Blake Perkins in center to make it 4-1. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Liam Hicks gave the Marlins a four-run cushion.
Christian Yelich and Isaac Collins both walked in the bottom of the ninth and moved into scoring position on a groundout to the pitcher by Tyler Black, but Perkins struck out looking against Marlins closer Calvin Faucher on a full count to end the game.

Kyle Stowers got Miami (49-53) on the board with a solo homer in the third, his 23rd of the season.
Jackson Chourio answered with his 17th long ball of the year one inning later for Milwaukee (6142), which was held to four hits and committed three errors.

Brewers starter Freddy Peralta got a no-decision, allowing just one run on five hits and striking out nine in five innings. Aaron Ashby (1-1) suffered his first loss of the season in relief.
Lopez was 3-for-4 for the Marlins, while Josh Simpson (2-0) earned the win in relief. Miami starter Cal Quantrill allowed one run on three hits and fanned four in five innings.
