Sam Anderson shut down the Hutchinson Tigers in the Alexandria baseball team’s 3-1 win on Friday. Anderson struck out 13 batters in five innings while allowing only one hit and no runs.

Alexandria scored a pair of runs in the top of the fourth and another run in the top of the sixth inning to improve its record to 10-4.

Alexandria hosts Willmar at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Brandon-Evansville falls to B-B-E, beats Browerville-Eagle Valley

The Brandon-Evansville baseball team, which is ranked No. 9 in Class A, lost a 10-0 game in six innings against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Friday, but bounced back with a 4-1 win over Browerville-Eagle Valley on Saturday.

Evan Dingwall had a pair of hits for B-E (12-2) against B-B-E, then stole four bases against Browerville-Eagle Valley.

Brandon-Evansville hosts Border West in a doubleheader at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Parkers Prairie topples New York Mills

The sixth-ranked Parkers Prairie Panthers improved to 11-3 on the season with a 10-7 win over New York Mills on Friday.

New York Mills led 7-4 heading to the bottom of the sixth inning, but Parkers Prairie scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to seal a 9-7 win.

Parkers Prairie’s rally began with a run on a fielder’s choice, then a walk, and another error. Benelli Myers drove in the go-ahead runs with a 2-RBI single.

Parkers Prairie plays in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. on Monday at Ottertail Central.
