Anyone interested in a trip down memory lane?

Three members of the Texas Rangers 2010 and 2011 World Series teams certainly did.

Legendary Rangers infielder Michael Young, former Rangers general manager Jon Daniels and assistant general manager Thad Levine spoke about their time in Texas on a recent episode of Levine’s Rosters to Rings podcast.

The trio’s lengthy conversation ranged from Young’s position changes through the years to an in-depth discussion of the team’s two World Series runs and the role of former manager Ron Washington.

One notable exchange sees Young illustrate his mentality ahead of the team’s first-ever World Series appearance in 2010.

“That was like the first year where I really felt like if we just played, we’ll win,” Young said. “Going into 2010, it was true. I was like ‘we just stay healthy and play well, we’re the best team.’ And I really felt that way.”

Levine chimed in to agree with the former captain.

“I remember that so distinctly because I felt that was the jumping off point,” Levine said. “We knew were talented, we weren’t getting a lot of credit but I thought that was Day 1 of like ‘we’re expecting to win right now.’ The whole dynamic changed.”
