Oregon State baseball is strengthening its roster with a transfer from right up Interstate 5.
Former University of Portland infielder Jace Miller announced his commitment to the Beavers on Saturday. Miller has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
A utility player for the Pilots, Miller had just 21 at-bats last season and hit .143. But this summer with the Bend Elks in the West Coast League, his bat has caught fire.
Miller is hitting a staggering .556 over his previous nine games with the Elks, including a recent walk-off home run. On the season, he is hitting .394 with 11 doubles and three home runs. He has eight stolen bases, too.
Miller hails from Medford, joining former South Medford High School teammate Tanner Douglas on the Beavers’ roster. Douglas — a left-handed pitcher — was also teammates with Miller on the Pilots for his one season at UP in 2024.
