RAPID CITY, S.D. – We continue to celebrate the eight Hardhats who signed with colleges to play baseball next year.

Jadon Moreno has been an ace for Post 22 this year, going 9-1 with a 1.36 ERA. Moreno signed with Mount Marty University.

He says even though he’s excited to play college baseball, it was a bittersweet day.

“It’s nowhere near done for us yet, but just the fact that, being my last year, what I’m going to move on to, it’s kind of like biting a bullet a little bit,” Moreno says. “There’s been so much joy, so many memories, hard days, long days, but the rewards that I reaped from this program in my tenure here. I get long winded with it super easily, but it’s definitely an emotional day, but honestly I’m looking forward to the future, I have a great opportunity ahead of me I hopefully can take advantage of.”

Another Hardhat who will play college ball is speedster Aiden Roberts. Post 22’s career stolen base leader signed with Garden City Community College in Kansas.

Roberts says he hopes going the community college route will help him move on to a D1 program.

“I was getting looked at by a couple colleges, but they weren’t high level colleges, and I figured that junior college was the right route for me just so I can obviously put more weight on, play a lot of baseball, and then kind of use it as like a stepping stone to go get looks from higher D1 colleges and hopefully play baseball at higher D1 colleges after Garden,” Roberts says.
