SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Angelo State (ASU) Rams took the diamond this weekend, looking to secure their spot in the NCAA Tournament with a Lone Star Conference (LSC) title.

ASU was coming off a bye week, after having won the LSC regular season title.
The Rams started off slow, falling to Lubbock Christian, 12-5, on Thursday. Then, ASU picked up where they left off in the regular season.
ASU took down UT-Tyler on Friday, 3-2, to secure their spot in the semifinals.
The Rams then took on Lubbock Christian again, and wouldn’t let LCU take them down for the second time in two days.
ASU secured their spot in the conference championship with a 15-3 victory on Friday.
Facing elimination yet again on Saturday, ASU came out swinging against a tough opponent in St. Edward’s, winning 11-0 and forcing a winner-takes-all second game on Saturday.
The Rams’ bats stayed hot, as ASU scored 12 runs in Saturday’s final game to win the LSC title.
The win marks ASU’s 6th Lone Star Conference title in program history.
The Rams earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament and will host the South Central Regional round. ASU will face the loser of the St. Edward’s and Lubbock Christian matchup on May 15.
