FORT DODGE — In a state tournament full of incredible gutsy performances, Izzie Moore had to finish off a gutsy senior season by leading Wayne to the program’s first state softball championship.
Ultimately, two clutch hits would prevent Moore from the dream ending to an incredible prep softball career. Two-out, two-run hits in the first two innings by Sydney Lovrein and Paige Kampman in the first two innings provided third-ranked Clarksville with all the run support that Lovrein would needing the pitching circle, lifting the Indians to a 4-1 win over the top-ranked Falcons in the Class 1A finals to close out the Iowa High School State Softball Tournament.
