(KNSI) – The Minnesota Twins are officially sellers at the trade deadline.

With the mark just days away, the club has made its first move, offloading starter Chris Paddack to a division rival. Paddack will stay in the American League Central, now donning the Olde English D of the Detroit Tigers. Multiple media outlets, including Fox Sports and MLB Network, reported the move. No word yet on what the Twins will be getting back in the deal.

Paddack had struggled so far in 2025 for the Twins, going 3-9 with an ERA just below 5.00. In 111 innings, he had notched only 83 strikeouts. All of those numbers are below his career averages. Paddack leaves on a high note, though. His final start for Minnesota was at venerable Dodger Stadium. On July 23rd, Paddack hurled six innings of four-hit ball, giving up just one earned run.

The Twins traded for Paddack back in early 2022, giving up a talented bat in Brent Rooker to the Athletics.
