CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Chase Burns is seven starts into his Major League Baseball career and is still in search of his first victory — but he’s put up eye-popping and historic numbers along the way.

The 22-year-old Cincinnati right-hander went 5 and 2/3 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, allowing six hits while walking one and striking out 10 batters.

That marked the third consecutive game Burns has stuck out at least 10 batters. He became the second Reds pitcher since 1900 to have 10+ strikeouts in three straight starts. The other was Raisel Isglesias in 2015.

Per Elias Sports, he is the eighth MLB pitcher since 1900 — and just the second in the last 40 years — with three straight games of 10+ strikeouts at age 22 or younger:

1984 Dwight Gooden: 51963 Al Downing: 41938 Bob Feller: 42025 Chase Burns: 3 *active2004 Oliver Perez: 31981 Fernando Valenzuela: 31971 Vida Blue: 31910 Walter Johnson: 3

According to Elias Sports, Burns also joined an exclusive group of rookie pitchers with at least three consecutive outings of 10+ strikeouts since 1893:

Matt Wilkes noted on Twitter that Burns is the 14th MLB pitcher with at least 45 strikeouts through six career starts since 1901, joining:
