The Dodgers signed of 18 of their 21 picks from the 2025 MLB Draft, based on reports leading up to and including Monday, the deadline for selections to reach agreement. In addition to the previously reported signings, in the last few days the club signed Aidan West, a high school shortstop from Pennsylvania selected in the fourth round, and Sam Horn, a college pitcher picked in the 17th round.
West decided to bypass college at North Carolina State to sign with the Dodgers, getting a bonus of $1.275 million, more than double the recommended slot value of $544,900 for the 135th-overall pick.
Horn missed all of 2024 after Tommy John surgery and pitched in only five games in 2025. His deal with the Dodgers is $497,500, of which $347,500 counts against the bonus pool. Jim Callis at MLB.com reported that Horn’s deal allows him to still play quarterback for Missouri this fall.
Eleventh-rounder Dylan Tate, a pitcher from Oklahoma, signed Monday as well. MLB.com reports his signing bonus as $251,500, as does Baseball America.
Another signing reported by Callis was Tommy Case, an undrafted free against out of Shaker High School in New York. The 6’1 right-hander had a college commitment to St. John’s but instead signed with the Dodgers for $422,500.
Nondrafted free agent Tommy Case signs w/@Dodgers for $422,500 ($272,500 counts vs bonus pool), largest NDFA bonus in 2025. New York prep RHP, fastball to 94 mph, good feel for spin. St. John’s recruit. @MLBDraft

Undrafted signings are treated the same as players selected in the 11th round or later. Any bonus amount over $150,000 counts toward the bonus pool.
Case was 6-1 with a 0.57 ERA during his senior season on the mound, and also played the outfield. He pitched in a few games this summer for Trenton in the MLB Draft League.
The draft picks the Dodgers did not sign were two high schoolers and a 19-year-old in junior college. Sixth-rounder Mason Lizenga already announced last week he was going to college at Pitt instead of turning pro.
Left-handed pitcher Shane Brinham, the 20th-rounder out of Canada, affirmed on Saturday his decision to pitch in college at Michigan. Right-hander Finn Edwards, drafted in the 18th round out of Iowa Western Community College, also did not sign and is headed for Arizona State.
Without Lizenga, the Dodgers’ bonus pool reduced from $9.3 million to $8,714,100. Given all the reported signings, including the undrafted Case, the Dodgers exceeded their bonus pool by $435,325, or 4.996 percent. They will pay a 75-percent tax on that overage amount (a $326,494 tax), but by staying under five percent over their pool will avoid the loss of a future pick (something no team has yet done under the current system).
