Adolis García added to his long list of heroic moments in a Rangers uniform Tuesday night.
With two outs in the fifth inning, Nolan Schanuel put a charge into a 1-0 Patrick Corbin sinker that left his bat at 101.9 mph and traveled 370 feet. The problem for Schanuel: it traveled 370 feet into García’s glove.
García got to the wall, timed his leap perfectly and brought Schanuel’s blast back to end the inning. A home run would have grown the Angel’s lead to 5-2, but the Rangers instead went into the sixth inning trailing 3-2.
According to Baseball Savant, the swing would have been a home run in six out of 30 major league ballparks.
