Nippon-Ham Fighters were scheduled to fly directly from New Chitose Airport to Osaka’s Itami Airport for a three-game series against Orix Buffaloes, starting on the 1st, but their flight was significantly delayed, four hours and 20 minutes. They were forced to suddenly change their route to a flight via Haneda Airport. Their arrival at Itami Airport is expected to be about two hours later than originally planned. The hectic travel accident left them wondering whether they would make it to the 6:00 PM game at Kyocera Dome.

All Nippon Airways announced the delay at 9:51 a.m., stating that “an aircraft could not be arranged.” At New Chitose Airport, in the middle of the summer vacation, the reception counter was crowded with passengers changing their routes. Amidst this unexpected trouble, the team departed for Osaka.
